HOTEL COSY MONCEAU, Paris

The hotel sits in a calm, tree-lined area that feels safe after dark, yet is well connected to the city centre. Arc de Triomphe is reachable on foot in about 25 minutes along a straightforward, quiet route. For longer trips, metro Villiers, Malesherbes and Wagram each serve different lines (RER connections available). Bus lines 31, 53 and 94 stop almost at the door. Gare Saint-Lazare is the nearest mainline station. The motorway périphérique is 2 minutes away by car. Orly airport is about 35 minutes away, Roissy-Charles de Gaulle about 40 minutes. A paid shuttle (€18/person) runs to CDG on request. Parking is available at a nearby public lot (€37/day, reservation needed).

The rooms are small, with old furniture, worn carpets and basic fixtures. Some have artwork with pop-art elements. The building is 3 storeys with no elevator, so upper-floor rooms require stairs. Street-facing rooms can admit outside noise; inner rooms are quieter. Soundproofing between rooms is weak - expect to hear plumbing and movement. Windows on some rooms may not close fully, affecting temperature control and noise. Some rooms suffer from humidity and poor ventilation. Lighting can be dim, with occasional broken ceiling lights. Amenities include bed linen, towels, a desk in single rooms, a safe, and free Wi-Fi. Housekeeping is not automatic; request fresh towels and bin emptying as needed. The bathrooms vary: some have a very small Italian-style shower, others a basic shower curtain setup; not all have proper toilet handles or adequate space. For a budget stay with a focus on location and price, the rooms fulfil basic needs but are not suited to those seeking modern comfort.

This hotel does not provide wellness amenities (no pool, spa, sauna or fitness room). However, the 17th arrondissement is a leafy residential area with several small parks and squares suitable for a morning jog or an evening stroll. The on-site library and games room serve as indoor leisure options, providing a quiet corner for reading or board games.

The 24-hour front desk can receive late arrivals and store luggage free of charge. Daily housekeeping is provided, but extra services like towel changes often require a direct request to reception. Laundry and dry cleaning are available for an additional fee. Wi-Fi is free and has been noted as fast and reliable. Meeting and banquet facilities are offered at extra cost. Safety features include a security alarm, smoke alarms, key-card access and 24-hour security. There is no elevator, so climbing stairs is necessary. The hotel does not allow pets. Nearby public parking (€37/day) requires a reservation. The CDG shuttle (€18/person) must be pre-arranged. Late-night entry is possible via a night porter who can open the door after 21:00.
