HOTEL NUOVO, Milan

The hotel is behind the Duomo in a quiet side street just off Piazza Duomo. Duomo Metro Station is a 5-minute walk, and a bus stop outside links directly to Linate Airport. Milan's Central Station is 4 metro stops away. La Scala Opera House, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and major shopping streets are all within a few minutes on foot. The area is well-lit and busy, making it suitable for solo travellers arriving late. For drivers, the nearest public parking is the Diaz lot on Piazza Diaz, a 5-minute walk. The immediate surroundings have many restaurants and cafés, all within 0.5 km.

Room sizes can be small, and furniture and finishes are basic and dated rather than modern. The rooms are cleaned daily, and towels and sheets are changed regularly. The property is an older conversion with no elevator. Room doors use a standard key lock, and some rooms have limited natural light (e.g., windows opening onto an internal light shaft). Noise levels vary: the front-facing rooms overlook a lively square, while back rooms are generally quiet but may hear the restaurant's ventilation system. Air conditioning and heating are available in all rooms, though some units can be noisy or prone to water leaks. Road-facing rooms may experience street-cleansing and delivery truck noise until midnight and again from 05:30. For a stay of more than one night, choosing a quiet courtyard room on a higher floor improves comfort.

The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar, and does not serve breakfast. Guests can bring food into the room or eat out. The area around the Duomo and via Torino has many cafés, pizzerias, and restaurants open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Options within 0.5 km include Al Conte Ugolino, Roses Pizza and More, Ristorante Charleston, Mozzarella e Basilico, and Café Excelsior, among others. For those who want a quick morning coffee or pastry, several cafés nearby open early. You can also use the in-room breakfast service.
