Hotel Por Santa Maria sits on a pedestrianised street right by the Mercato Porcellino (leather market). Piazza della Signoria is a 30-second walk, and most major attractions - including the Duomo and the Accademia - are reachable within 10-15 minutes on foot. Santa Maria Novella Station is less than 15 minutes away on foot; a bus from the station stops very close to the hotel, and the tram from the airport connects in about 20 minutes. The area is safe and lively, with street performers audible from the rooms. The central position makes it possible to return to the hotel for a midday rest during a day of sightseeing.

Rooms are decorated in classic style with artwork and wood furniture. Each room includes an electric kettle with tea and coffee bags, a safe, and a small desk. Private bathrooms are ensuite or external but dedicated; shared-bathroom rooms have a private washbasin inside the room. The shared bathroom is large and kept clean. Rooms are compact but comfortable, with good storage and modern, effective air conditioning. Road-facing rooms have soundproof windows that effectively block street noise; interior-facing rooms are even quieter. The building is on the 4th floor (served by a lift). The property is clean, well-maintained and feels more like a comfortable apartment than a standard hotel.

The hotel does not have a restaurant. Breakfast is not served, but each room is equipped with an electric kettle and complimentary tea and coffee bags. A shared fridge on the floor allows guests to store personal food and drink items. The surrounding area offers dozens of dining options within a few minutes' walk, including pizzerias, cafés and gelaterias. The reception also has a small self-service fridge with hot and cold drinks available for purchase.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Luggage storage is available at no extra charge for both early arrivals and post-check-out exploration. The 24/7 self-service drinks vending machine is located in the reception lobby. A safe deposit box is provided in each room. There is no airport shuttle service. Cots (baby beds) can be arranged on request. The hotel uses key access and has CCTV in common areas and fire extinguishers for safety. Housekeeping and bed linen are changed every four days. Late check-in is possible by prior arrangement (with a €5/hour surcharge after 20:00). The staff are responsive via WhatsApp before and during stays.
