HOTEL UNIVERSO, Turin

The hotel sits in a practical neighbourhood on the edge of central Turin. The tram (lines 16 and 15) and bus stop directly outside connect you to the city centre and the main business district in about 15-20 minutes. Porta Susa and Porta Nuova train stations are each about 3 km away, while the Tangenziale Nord orbital road is 5 km from the property - useful for arriving by car. Several restaurants, pizzerias, cafes, and a gelateria are within a short walk. The Politecnico University is within walking distance, making this a popular base for academic visitors. On-street parking is free but can be competitive in the immediate area.

All rooms are en suite with a private bathroom and come with a flat-screen TV, free toiletries, and heating. Soundproofed windows help reduce street noise, though road-facing rooms still pick up tram and traffic sounds; rooms facing the inner courtyard tend to be quieter. The furniture is simple and older in style, and bathrooms are functional but can be small-particularly the shower cubicles. Some rooms have a balcony overlooking the street. Triple rooms may have limited space, and storage is basic. While decor is dated, cleanliness is generally maintained. For a better night's sleep in a quieter setting, choosing a room at the back rather than facing the road is recommended.

Breakfast is served in a modest buffet style offering a selection of bread, pastries, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cold cuts, and cheeses. A barista is on hand to prepare fresh coffee to order. The breakfast room is small and can feel cramped when busy, so arriving early helps avoid queues. The hotel does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner, but the surrounding area offers a variety of pizzerias, dumpling houses, and Greek and Japanese restaurants within a few minutes' walk. Drinks and snacks are available from the bar and vending machines.

The reception is open from 07:00 to 23:00 and offers concierge service, luggage storage, and express check-in/out free of charge. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. A lift serves all floors, though it is older and can be noisy. A shared lounge/TV area and vending machines for drinks and snacks are available. Business facilities include fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet rooms at an additional charge. Cots and irons can be provided on request. Pets are allowed (max 2) for 10 EUR per night. No airport shuttle, swimming pool, or spa is available.

While there are no on-site wellness or leisure facilities, the location provides easy access to the city's parks and cultural sites via the tram stop directly outside. The shared lounge with TV offers a simple indoor relaxation space.
