HOWARD JOHNSON BY WYNDHAM RESEDA HOTEL & SUITES, Los Angeles

The hotel sits across from a fire station and is a 15-minute walk from Cal State Northridge. A CVS Pharmacy is next door, and dining options like Denny's, Pho So 1, and A&W are within 0.5 km. The immediate area is a mix of residential and light industrial, with a gated, secured parking lot and CCTV cameras throughout. A car is necessary to reach most LA attractions; Universal Studios is 15 minutes away by car, and downtown LA is roughly 30 minutes via the 101 or 405 freeways.

Standard rooms feature queen beds, carpeted floors, a sitting area, and a private bathroom. Suites are available with a separate bedroom, living area with a sofa bed, and two TVs. Air conditioning and heating are provided. Soundproofing is minimal, and rooms facing the interior courtyard or connecting rooms allow more noise from neighbours and hallway activity, making the property less suitable for light sleepers. Some rooms have been renovated; others retain dated furnishings and decor.

The pool and hot tub are located in the inner courtyard, which concentrates noise from the pool area into surrounding rooms. The pool size is small, and the water is cleaned regularly. Shaded areas and outdoor tables and chairs are available around the pool deck, providing a space to sit and read or eat.

The property offers a 24-hour front desk, express check-in/check-out, vending machines for drinks and snacks, and a meeting/banquet room (available for an additional charge). Lobby coffee and tea are available for guests. An elevator is not present, so ground-floor rooms should be requested if stairs are a concern. Luggage storage is available. The parking lot is free and does not require a reservation; it is gated and secured with CCTV. Room cleaning is provided daily.

Breakfast includes a self-serve waffle station, bagels with cream cheese, mini-muffins, cold cereal, apples, and pastries. The breakfast area is located in the lobby. Past reports note that the selection can run out, especially near closing time, and hot items like eggs or meat are not included. Coffee and tea are available. Several chain restaurants are within walking distance, including Denny's, A&W, and a pho restaurant.
