JIRA19HOSTEL, Bangkok

Khao San Road is reachable in under 4 minutes on foot, with the Bangkok National Museum less than 1 km away. The Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha are within a 17-minute walk, making it easy to explore the old town. Don Mueang International Airport is 26 km away. The immediate area is packed with street food stalls and restaurants like Good Day Bangkok and Max's Magical Thai Food, all within 0.5 km. Despite the proximity to the bustling nightlife, the alley location ensures a surprisingly quiet environment. The nearest bus stop for early departures to islands is a 3-minute walk.

Both single and double rooms feature air conditioning (quiet and effective), a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, and a balcony. Rooms are larger than expected for the price, with comfortable yet very firm beds - a characteristic to be aware of. The decor is modern and minimal, and the property is relatively new, so everything feels fresh. Soundproofing is good due to the interior courtyard, so road noise is not an issue. Free toiletries and a dining area are provided. No in-room fridge, but a communal fridge is available in the lobby. Room cleaning is not automatic; you need to request it at reception.

Jira19Hostel does not provide breakfast. However, the hostel's prime location means dozens of food options are steps away, including street food stalls, Thai restaurants like Tom Yum Kung and I love Thaifood, and bars like Madame Musur. A free self-service coffee and tea station is available in the lobby 24/7, along with a shared fridge. Those arriving early or departing late can plan their meals around the vibrant local food scene, which is cheap and varied. No formal restaurant or bar operates at the hostel.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Luggage storage is available for free after checkout, allowing you to explore before departure. Security includes 24-hour coverage, CCTV in common areas and outside, keycard and key access, and fire extinguishers. The shared lounge/TV area has a coffee/tea station and a communal fridge. Check-in is from 14:00 with a smooth self-check-in system; check-out is by 12:00. Late arrivals can self-check-in easily. No parking is available on site. Pets are not permitted. The reception is not always staffed, but the owner is responsive via messaging. The shoe removal policy at the entrance helps keep the property exceptionally clean.
