JOST HOTEL BORDEAUX CENTRE GARE SAINT JEAN, Bordeaux

The hotel is situated in the developing Atelier district, a pedestrianised area with new architecture, a food court, and entertainment space. Gare Saint-Jean is a 10-minute walk away, with bus lines and tram replacements servicing the main city. Bordeaux city centre is a 30-40 minute walk, or a short Bolt/taxi ride. The METPARK public parking is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and offers a preferential rate for guests. The area is generally safe but the immediate vicinity of the station feels less secure after dark. For airport transfers, a taxi or Uber is the recommended option for late arrivals.

Rooms are modern and compact, with some designed as family rooms with bunk beds. The private bathrooms include a walk-in shower, and the sink is located in the main room in standard double rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide natural light but also mean rooms facing the station may hear train noise if the window is open; blackout curtains help with sleep. Some rooms have balconies and record players. The standard double rooms are very small, with no wardrobe or chair - better suited to a solo traveler or a short stopover. The family rooms offer more space and a distinct sleeping area for children, though the sofa bed and double bed are not separated by a door. Air conditioning is installed but may struggle during heatwaves.

Breakfast is a buffet with continental and vegetarian options including fresh pastries, local specialities, hot dishes (with a self-service egg boiler), and a variety of juices. The restaurant serves international cuisine for lunch, Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 14:00, but is closed on weekends. The rooftop bar offers tapas-style food and cocktails in the evening, but it is not open on Mondays, and service can be limited during the off-season. A bar on the ground floor next to reception is often closed. A Super U supermarket is a 1-minute walk from the hotel.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. A 24-hour reception and luggage storage are provided (short-term only, not for weeks). The hotel has a lift, accessible rooms with grab rails and a low sink, and an electric vehicle charging station. A shared kitchen can be used by guests. For business needs, there is a meeting room, fax/photocopying, and a business centre (all at extra cost). Laundry is also available for a fee. The hotel has secure bicycle storage, though bicycles are not allowed in the rooms.
