JOST AUBERGE DE JEUNESSE BORDEAUX GARE ST JEAN, Bordeaux

The property sits in the developing Cité des Citernes district, roughly 10 minutes on foot from the railway station and 5 minutes from a bus stop. The city centre is a 10-minute tram ride or a 30-minute walk away. A supermarket and several cafés are within 500m. The area is generally quiet but the immediate surroundings around the station can feel less inviting on foot, especially after dark. The tram stop outside provides easy access to landmarks like the Stone Bridge (2.8km) and Bordeaux Cathedral (4.3km). Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport is 15km away.

Private double and family rooms include air conditioning, a private entrance, and free WiFi. Shared dormitories come in 4-bed, 6-bed, and 8-bed configurations, some with private bathrooms and rooftop-pool access. Capsule-style beds feature blackout curtains, individual lighting, shelves, and a full-height window for ventilation. Dormitories are cleaned daily, but housekeeping does not automatically refresh towels or make beds every day - request it at reception. Some rooms on lower floors are compact; those wanting more space may prefer a family room or a larger dorm. Train noise can be noticeable in rooms facing the tracks, so light sleepers should request a quieter side.

Breakfast runs from 07:00 to 10:30 and costs 16EUR. The buffet includes bread, pastries, hot drinks, fruit, and gluten-free options. The on-site restaurant Solia offers vegetarian dishes and a cocktail menu, but evening dinner is not always available - check opening times on arrival. A poolside bar on the rooftop terrace serves snacks and drinks. A shared kitchen is available for self-catering, equipped with cookware, a fridge, and a microwave. Several restaurants and a food market are within a few minutes' walk.

The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out and can sell public transport tickets. Free luggage storage is available before check-in and after checkout. The shared kitchen is well equipped with utensils, a fridge, and a washing machine and tumble dryer at no extra cost (soap sold at reception). Business facilities include free fax/photocopying and paid meeting rooms. The building is fully non-smoking with soundproofed rooms, a lift, and facilities for disabled guests (auditory guidance, grab rails, lower sinks). Baby safety gates are available. An electric vehicle charging station and accessible parking are located nearby.
