The hotel overlooks the canal with its locks and bustling pedestrian life. Jacques Bonsergent Metro is a 5-minute walk away, and Place de la Republique is 10 minutes on foot, offering direct lines to Place de la Bastille, the Champs-Élysées, and Gare de l'Est. Gare du Nord is 1 km away-a 10-15 minute walk. Both CDG and Orly airports are a 45-50 minute drive by car, or accessible via RER B from Gare du Nord. The area is filled with cafes, bars, restaurants, and independent shops, and a small park is 100 metres up the street. A laundromat is also 200 metres from the hotel. The neighbourhood is safe at night, though the main street can be lively.

Each guest room has a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, laptop safe, mini-bar (extra charge), and tea/coffee making with a kettle (larger rooms feature a Nespresso machine). A sitting area is included in all rooms, with some rooms overlooking the canal. Rooms are well soundproofed but those facing the street may experience some traffic noise. The cosy double room is compact but well-designed. For a more spacious layout, request a La Grande or Junior Suite, which can accommodate cribs and have bathtubs on request. Standard rooms have showers. No rooms have balconies. The property has a lift but stairs are narrow and steep. Some double beds are on castors and move easily.

Breakfast is included in many rates and consists of a French-style continental spread: fresh baguette or croissants, butter and jam, yoghurt, hot drinks, and freshly squeezed orange juice. It is delivered to guest rooms. The hotel does not have a dedicated breakfast lounge. For lunch and dinner, the on-site restaurant Mike serves pizza and vegetarian dishes, operating Monday-Saturday 11:00-22:30 (Sunday until 19:00). A snack bar and wine/champagne are also available, as is in-room breakfast ordering. The surrounding streets are dense with restaurants and bars offering a wide variety of cuisines.

The main leisure attraction is the immediate surroundings of Canal Saint-Martin, a popular area for walking, cycling, and people-watching along the water. Several parks and the nearby Place de la Republique provide open space. The lively neighbourhood has multiple cafes, bars, and restaurants. The property itself has no gym, games room, or dedicated leisure facilities.
