Kings Cross train station is a five-minute walk, providing direct connections to the CBD, Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and beaches. The area is well served by public transport, making a car unnecessary. The neighbourhood is extremely walkable for city exploration. Numerous cafes, restaurants, and supermarkets are within a two-minute walk. Street parking and Kings Cross Secure Parking (3-minute walk) are available, though the hostel has no dedicated parking.

Dormitories range from 4 to 8 beds. All beds include a privacy screen, reading light, and individual power point. Rooms are compact (10-21 m2) and fitted with a fan but no air conditioning, which can make them uncomfortably warm during hot weather. Shared bathrooms are located on each floor (4 toilets and 4 showers per floor, plus a downstairs bathroom). Rooms facing the street can be noisy due to thin wooden doors and party activity. For solo travellers or those wanting more space, a private twin room (for two people) is available, though it also uses shared bathroom facilities.

The hostel offers a complimentary evening meal each night, featuring a variety of home-cooked dishes including meat and vegetarian options. Vegan options are available on request. Dinner is served at 7 pm and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving on time is recommended as portions can run out. The kitchen is shared and self-catering is possible, though counter space and equipment are limited. There is no breakfast service, but guests can make complimentary tea and coffee, and a free barista coffee is available at the Happy Travels shop. Many cafes and restaurants are within a short walk for other meals.
