The property is in the Trudering-Riem district, with Moosfeld U-Bahn station (U2 line) reachable in about 5 minutes on foot and Trudering S-Bahn station within a 10-minute walk. From the S-Bahn, trains connect directly to Munich city centre (20-30 minutes), the Allianz Arena (15 minutes by metro), and Munich Airport (30 minutes by car or metro). The A99 motorway is a 5-minute drive, making road access convenient for trips toward Austria and Italy. Free private parking is available on site without prior reservation. The immediate vicinity includes a nightlife area and a red-light district, which can feel unsafe, especially for solo female travellers returning late at night. The nearest supermarket (Lidl) is a 5-minute drive away, and a larger shopping centre (Riem-Arkaden) with restaurants and grocery stores is 7 minutes away by car.

Each room is a private, lockable space - not a shared dorm. Rooms are functionally decorated and modern, featuring a flat-screen TV, a box-spring bed, free Wi-Fi, lockers, and a desk. Towels and sheets are included. There are no private bathrooms; each floor has two shared bathrooms and two separate toilets for about five rooms. The shared kitchen on each floor is well equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, and storage cabinets for food. The property is non-smoking throughout, and heating is provided. Room size is adequate for a hostel, and daily cleaning is performed. The property has a lift and is allergy-friendly. Rooms may feel basic but are clean and functional; noise from common areas or neighbouring rooms can occur due to thin walls.

There is no restaurant at My Hostel. Instead, each floor has a spacious, well-equipped shared kitchen with stovetop, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee machine, and cooking utensils. Storage cabinets are provided for each room to keep food separate. Free coffee is available each morning. Guests can prepare their own meals, which is ideal for budget travellers.
