HOSTEL SOFIA, Madrid

The hostel is situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood, offering a safe environment for walking at night. Ventilla metro station is a 5-minute walk, connecting to the city centre and the airport (Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, 13 km away). Plaza de Castilla and Santiago Bernabéu Stadium are within 2-3 km, and Gran Vía is approximately 6 km by metro. Several restaurants, including Casa Jose Luis and Sotero, are within 500 metres. Chamartín Railway Station is about 20 minutes on foot, making the location practical for train travellers, especially those arriving late or departing early. Taxis and buses are also available for airport transfers.

The hostel offers shared dormitories (10-16 beds) with bunk beds, some of which have inflatable mattresses that can be noisy and uncomfortable. Rooms are air-conditioned and come with a work desk, a refrigerator, a dining table, and seating. Storage is provided via lockers with numeric codes inside the room, but some lockers are small and may not fit a full-sized backpack. Bed linen is provided; towels can be rented. Rooms have limited soundproofing and ventilation, and noise from the corridor and neighbouring rooms can be an issue, especially at night. Light sleepers may find the ambient noise and motion-sensor hallway lights disruptive. Some rooms have a balcony, though this is not guaranteed. The accommodation is best suited for budget-conscious travellers who prioritise price and location over quietness and spaciousness.
