OTTAVIANO EXCLUSIVE MAISON, Rome

The apartment sits on a pedestrian street in the Vaticano Prati neighbourhood, directly between Ottaviano Metro (line A) and the Vatican. St Peter's Square is 5-6 minutes on foot, the Vatican Museums about 8 minutes, and Castel Sant'Angelo a 10-minute stroll. The metro connects to Termini station in 15 minutes; an airport shuttle bus stops within a few hundred metres. The immediate area is full of bars, restaurants, a supermarket and a minimarket, making self-catering and sightseeing effortless. The street is lively but secure, and the apartment's soundproofing keeps the interior quiet.

The apartment has two separate bedrooms: one with a double bed and a second larger room with a double bed, a single bed and an armchair that opens into a single bed. The two bathrooms (one with walk-in shower and bidet, the other with a washing machine) are a major advantage for groups of 4-5 people. The living area includes a dining table and two flat-screen TVs. Cooking is easy with a stovetop, oven, fridge, kettle and all utensils. Soundproofed windows and walls keep the apartment quiet even though it overlooks a busy pedestrian street. Three air-conditioning units are located in the bedrooms and the living area. The apartment is on the first floor and has a lift. Rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and adequate storage.

The apartment's kitchenette includes a stovetop, oven, refrigerator, electric kettle and all necessary cookware and utensils, making self-catering straightforward. A supermarket is located 100 m away. The pedestrian street outside is lined with restaurants serving Italian classics: Ottavio Pizza & Spaghetti, Panino Divino, Dal Toscano, Da Vito e Dina and Castroni Ottaviano are all within a 5-minute walk. The host is happy to recommend and can provide restaurant suggestions matching your preferences. For a sweet treat, Old Bridge Gelateria is equally close.

No on-site pool, spa or gym is available, but the neighbourhood offers barber/beauty shops and a minimarket within a few metres. The location is ideal for walking to the Vatican Museums, St Peter's Basilica, Castel Sant'Angelo and the historic centre. Metro Ottaviano provides quick access to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Piazza del Popolo. The lively pedestrian street is itself an attraction for evening strolls and aperitifs.

WiFi is free throughout the apartment and reliable enough for streaming and work. Air-conditioning and heating are present in all rooms. A lift serves the first-floor apartment. Paid luggage storage (€10) is offered at a nearby facility 200 m away, and early key access can sometimes be arranged directly with the host. Paid shuttle service from the airport can be booked. Public parking on site costs €20 per day; a nearby garage without ZTL restrictions is also available and can be booked by the host. Pets are allowed on request (charges apply). The apartment has smoke alarms, a security alarm and key access for safety. Laundry facilities include a washing machine (no dryer).
