ROME'S GLORIA HOTEL, Rome

The hotel sits on a clean, safe street in Prati, an upscale residential area with plenty of restaurants, bars, cafés and shops within a few minutes' walk. Lepanto Metro station is a 5-minute stroll away, offering direct connections to Rome's historic centre, Termini station and the Colosseum. The Vatican Museums are less than 1 km away and St Peter's Basilica is reachable in 17 minutes on foot. Several bus stops are also nearby, including routes to the airport and central landmarks. Rome Ciampino Airport is 17 km from the hotel. For those arriving by car, no hotel parking is available but paid public garages can be found in the vicinity.

Accommodation options include single, double (with one or two beds), and family rooms, all featuring air conditioning, heating, a wardrobe, safe deposit box and a private bathroom with shower, bidet and hairdryer. Some rooms add a bath or hot tub, and double rooms with a walk-in shower are available. Rooms are described as spacious, well-equipped and newly renovated, with comfortable beds and ample power outlets. Corridor noise can be heard in the mornings, so rooms on higher floors or facing the quiet internal courtyard are preferable for light sleepers. A fridge and electric kettle in each room add convenience for storing drinks or snacks.

The hotel does not have a full restaurant or a paid breakfast service. Instead, a self-service kitchen area is open around the clock, providing unlimited filter coffee, cappuccino, espresso (Lavazza pods), hot chocolate, tea, still and sparkling water, and chilled water. Every morning, fresh croissants are laid out, forming a simple Italian breakfast. Wine and champagne are available for an additional charge. A coffee shop and a minimarket are also on site. A wide variety of excellent restaurants, pizzerias and cafés are within a 2-5 minute walk around the hotel.

The hotel offers a hot tub for guest use. Some room categories include an in-room hot tub or a bathtub, which can be reserved for a more relaxing stay. An ice-skating rink is also located nearby. The quiet, leafy Prati district itself provides a pleasant setting for walking and relaxing away from the busiest tourist areas.

Reception is staffed 24 hours, and the team is known for being exceptionally helpful, allowing early check-in and late luggage storage at no extra cost. Express check-in/out is available free of charge. Daily housekeeping is included, and towels are replaced regularly. The business centre offers free fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities. A hairdresser/beautician is on site. The property has key card and key access, fire extinguishers, and free safety deposit boxes. Accepted payment methods are Visa, Maestro, CartaSi and MasterCard. No pets are allowed. WiFi is free in all areas and described as high-speed.
