ARRIVEL PARKHOTEL OBERMENZING, Munich

The hotel sits in a leafy, upscale neighbourhood, ideal for those seeking calm and green surroundings. The S-Bahn station (line S2) is a 10-15 minute walk, offering a direct 15-minute ride to Munich Central Station and Marienplatz. A bus stop is located right outside the hotel. The Botanic Gardens are 1 km away, and Nymphenburg Palace is reachable in 8 minutes by car or a pleasant walk through the park. Marienplatz is 20 minutes by car or 30 minutes by public transport. For car travellers, free parking is available on the street and in the courtyard - a practical advantage for exploring the city or day trips to Dachau (easy drive). The area is very quiet, with limited street life; nearby dining options include Menzingers (0.5 km) and Naxos Taverna (1 km).

Rooms are clean and decorated in a pleasant modern style, though some may feel compact and basic, with furnishings reflecting a 1950s-70s aesthetic. The property has no air conditioning - rooms can become warm in summer, especially with windows closed to avoid road noise. For better sleep, request a room away from the street and quieter upper floors; note that there is no lift, so those on upper floors require stair access. Family rooms are available (quadruple rooms with 2 beds, suitable for up to 4 people), and no adjoining rooms exist. Some units include a Smart TV with Netflix. No balcony or tea/coffee-making facilities are provided. The private bathroom includes free toiletries and a hairdryer; shower water pressure and temperature can be inconsistent in some rooms. Daily housekeeping is free but may not be performed every day unless requested. Luggage storage is available free of charge.

The breakfast is a daily buffet featuring sausages, cheese, fresh fruit, egg dishes, and muesli, served in a charming area with a pleasant summer terrace. The breakfast quality is notably good for its price class, with fresh croissants and excellent coffee. Dinner is available through the Garden & Lounge, which serves international cuisine and a bar, open from 09:00 to 22:00 (closed Wednesdays). Special diet menus can be requested, and wine/champagne and kids' meals are available for an additional charge. The area has limited restaurant choice, but nearby Menzingers (0.5 km), Naxos Taverna (1 km), and die FASANERIE (1 km) provide alternatives.

The hotel does not have a spa, swimming pool, or gym. For leisure, the property features a garden with outdoor furniture, a sun terrace, and a terrace area. The surrounding area offers beautiful parkland and the Nymphenburg Palace gardens (12-minute walk), ideal for walks and jogs. The Botanic Gardens are 1 km away. There are no on-site sports or entertainment facilities.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Free public parking is possible on the street and in the courtyard (no reservation). A safety deposit box is provided for free. Daily housekeeping and luggage storage are included at no extra cost. The reception is not always staffed but is quick and easy to reach. Pets are allowed on request, with possible charges. Accepted payment methods are American Express, Visa, Maestro, EC-Card, and MasterCard. The property is fully non-smoking. There is no lift, and no airport shuttle service is available.
