PENNY FARTHING INN, St. Augustine

The Penny Farthing Inn offers a selection of rooms. The Cambridge is on the first floor and has a Victorian feel with high ceilings, stained glass windows, and an antique headboard. The Windsor, also on the first floor, includes a king size bed, a stand up shower, and a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The Buckingham is a hidden gem. The Victoria Bedchamber, located at the front of the inn, has access to the second floor balcony. The Elizabeth Bedchamber, located on the second floor, is decorated with Victorian roses and lace, has a queen size bed, stand up shower, and a private balcony. The Catherine Bedchamber, located on the second floor, includes a king size bed, a Jacuzzi tub, a private entrance, and a balcony with a swing. The Treehouse includes a combination bathtub and shower, a fireplace, stained glass windows, and a private staircase with balcony. The York is a compact room with a queen bed and whirlpool tub with shower. Penny's Attic, on the third floor, features a walk-in tiled shower, two person whirlpool tub, a king bed, a living area, and a private sundeck with views of Flagler College, Lightner Museum, and other historic buildings. Amenities in some rooms include cable TV, DVD players, sherry, and wireless internet.

Guests enjoy a gourmet breakfast served in the dining room or at bistro tables on the porch, from 8:30 to 9:30. The dishes range from eggs benedict, sausage/cheese or vegetarian quiches, and raspberry French Toast served with bacon.

Nearby restaurants include Columbia Restaurant, serving Spanish and Cuban cuisine with hand painted tiles and Spanish fountains. The Historic District includes Spanish-Colonial landmarks like the 1600s Castillo de San Marcos. Parking is on-site with one spot per room. Due to the historic nature of the home, wheelchair ramp accessibility is not available. The Penny Farthing Inn is a non-smoking establishment, however smoking is allowed in the driveway.
