The area is pedestrian-friendly with many bars, cafés and restaurants nearby, and a supermarket close by. Public transport tickets and bike rental are available for additional charges, while the property's street is quiet despite being so well-connected. Parking is possible on-site at €20/day but cannot be reserved.

The guesthouse offers a variety of room types in a 19th-century residential building with a lift. All rooms are soundproofed, have heating, and most feature carpeted or parquet floors, a seating area, desk and ironing facilities. The suite provides separate living and sleeping areas. Bathroom options include shared facilities (with multiple private shower/toilet cabins) and private en-suite bathrooms. Some double rooms have a washbasin in the room. Rooms facing the street can be affected by road noise, particularly on lower floors; courtyard-facing rooms are preferred for quietness. Room size varies from compact to spacious, with some rooms described as generously proportioned and suitable for city-break use. Blackout shutters are installed in most rooms, helping with sleep and temperature regulation. No air conditioning is available - rooms can become hot in summer, requiring open windows which increases noise. Heating is effective, but some rooms have reported poor insulation from traffic and neighbouring rooms.

Pension Absolut Berlin does not operate a restaurant or bar, and breakfast is not provided. Guests can use the fully equipped shared kitchen (with fridge, microwave, kettle, and cooking utensils) to prepare their own meals. The kitchen also offers free tea and coffee. The neighbourhood is well-supplied with shops and eateries: a Vietnamese restaurant, pastry shop, Italian restaurant, and several fast-food options are within a 5-minute walk. Fruits and wine/champagne are available for purchase at the property.

The surrounding Prenzlauer Berg district is ideal for exploring on foot or by bike, with its many cafés, restaurants and cultural highlights.
