PENSION AMANDA, Berlin

The property is located in a tranquil residential neighbourhood, approximately 9 km from the Memorial of the Berlin Wall and Natural History Museum, and 10 km from Berlin Central Station. Berlin Brandenburg Airport is 43 km away. Good public transport connections (bus and S-Bahn) provide direct access to the city centre - about a 10 km ride - making car-free exploration feasible. The Kulturhaus Fontana Märkisches Museum is within a 300-metre walk, and several supermarkets and restaurants (Western Saloon, Orakel) are about 0.5 km away. Boating activities are available in the surrounding area. On-site free private parking is provided for 2-3 small vehicles, and free street parking is also possible. The building is unlit externally at night, so bring a torch or use a phone flashlight.

The property offers single and double rooms, each with a private bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. Rooms include a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a minibar, seating area, wardrobe, electric kettle, and a dining table and work desk. Tiled floors and hypoallergenic bedding are standard. Some rooms feature a balcony or terrace with garden furniture. Room conditions vary significantly: furniture and fittings show wear - loose door handles, rusty showerheads, and poorly maintained bathrooms are common. Rooms facing the street can be very noisy due to traffic, while garden-side rooms are quieter. The wastewater pump generates a loud humming noise whenever water is used, audible from neighbouring rooms. The building is very soundproofed throughout. Room interiors are clean and spacious, with a functional layout that suits short stays, though some guests have noted mattresses that can be lumpy. A shared kitchen is available. Note: due to ongoing renovations, some rooms lack a functioning toilet or shower.

Breakfast is not offered. However, a shared kitchen is available with a microwave, electric kettle, crockery, cutlery, a fridge, and dishware, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. A vending machine for drinks and snacks is on site. For dining out, several restaurants (Western Saloon, Orakel) are within a 5-minute walk (0.5 km), and a 24-hour Edeka supermarket, petrol station, and a café are also nearby. The immediate area has a good selection of takeaway options. The shared entrance area includes a communal coffee machine with seating.

The property has a small garden and a sun terrace with outdoor furniture and free sun umbrellas, ideal for relaxing or having an early coffee. The garden is well-maintained and provides a quiet, shaded space. No spa, pool, gym, or organised leisure programme is available. The surrounding area offers opportunities for boating.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the property free of charge. Free private parking is provided on site for up to 2-3 vehicles, though a reservation is not possible; free street parking is also available. A shared kitchen with a microwave, fridge, kettle, crockery, and cutlery can be used by guests. Additional services include a tour desk and a vending machine for drinks and snacks. The building has CCTV outside, key access, and fire extinguishers. Pets are allowed on request at no extra cost. The property also offers a designated smoking area. Check-in is contactless using a key-safe with a PIN code, with no staff on site - communication is only by phone or email. Luggage storage is not confirmed. There is no lift.
