PITAGORA B&B, Rome

Pitagora B&B is on the 5th floor of a building just off Via Amendola, 300 m from Santa Maria Maggiore and 900 m from Sapienza University of Rome. The Colosseum is 1 km away, and Domus Aurea is 1 km away. The area is well lit at night and feels safe, with many restaurants, supermarkets and cafés directly outside the entrance. The walk to Termini takes about 2 minutes, giving easy access to the metro lines A and B, regional trains and airport buses. For those arriving at Rome Ciampino Airport (14 km), the bus stop is a short walk away. The central location means most main sights are within a 15-25 minute walk.

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning (paid), heating, soundproof walls, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a safe and a dressing area. The private bathroom includes a shower and hairdryer, but the shower cubicle is small and water pressure can be low. The bathroom does not provide toiletries beyond hand soap, so guests should bring their own shampoo and shower gel. Some rooms are street-facing and can be noisy; rooms overlooking the inner courtyard are quieter. The building's elevator is very small (max 2 slim persons) and old; those with heavy luggage may prefer the stairs. The room itself is basic and compact - suitable for sleeping and showering but not for extended lounging. The windows cannot be fully opened in some rooms. The unit has a double bed only.

Pitagora B&B does not offer breakfast, despite the B&B name. Guests should plan to eat out, which is convenient as there are many restaurants, trattorias and a supermarket just outside the entrance - including Trattoria Angelo, Rosy, Alfredo Ristorante, Mercato Centrale Roma and more, all within a 1-2 minute walk. For self-catering, the supermarket downstairs is useful, though rooms do not have kitchen facilities, a fridge or a kettle. The surrounding area also has many cafés for a quick morning coffee or pastry.

Pitagora B&B does not have a swimming pool, spa or wellness centre. There is no on-site gym, sauna or leisure area. The property is suited for guests who plan to use the room primarily as a base for sightseeing and do not require recreational amenities.
