PONTEVECCHIO RELAIS, Florence

The hotel sits on the River Arno, directly alongside Ponte Vecchio. The Uffizi Gallery is 50 metres away, Piazza della Signoria is 250 metres, and Palazzo Pitti is a 5-minute walk. Florence Santa Maria Novella station is a 15-minute walk. Due to its historic centre position, street noise from pedestrians and late-night activity is significant - the area is lively until 1-2 AM. An airport taxi costs €28-38; the train from Santa Maria Novella to Rome airport is the recommended ground route.

Accommodation includes basic double rooms with internal courtyard views, and river-view categories with a balcony (Junior Suite with balcony and river view, Superior with balcony and river view). Basic double rooms have small internal windows and may feel cramped, with bathrooms described as very compact - some have sliding doors that do not close fully. Rooms are not soundproofed; street-facing rooms hear pedestrian and traffic noise well into the night. Noise from plumbing (toilet macerator) and thin walls between rooms is common. The building has a lift; some apartments are 250 metres away in a building without lift. Rooms have double beds only (no twin option); cots available for an extra charge. Air conditioning works well. Some rooms lack tea/coffee-making facilities; a paid machine is in reception. Daily housekeeping is available, but not on all days.

No wellness or leisure facilities are available on-site. Guests seeking spa treatments, a pool, or gym access must use external venues in the city centre. The immediate surroundings - the Arno riverbank, Ponte Vecchio, and Piazza della Signoria - provide a rich leisure context for walking and sightseeing.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. Parking is available at a location nearby (Lungarno garage) for €35 per day, reservation required; an EV charger is available at that garage but not at the hotel. The building has a lift to room floors. Luggage storage is available (lockers) for €10 per 2-4 bags. A paid coffee machine (€1/cup) and a vending machine for drinks are in reception. Safety features include CCTV, smoke alarms, key access, and a safety deposit box (free). Daily housekeeping is free but may not be provided every day. Staff are present only during reception hours (approx. 2 hours physically, but reachable via WhatsApp). Late check-in after 21:00 costs €10 per hour.
