HOTEL PRATI, Rome

The hotel sits on a quiet street in the upscale Prati area, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and bars. It is a 5-minute walk to Castel Sant'Angelo, 10 minutes to St. Peter's Basilica, and about 15 minutes to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps via metro. The Ottaviano metro station (Line A) is a few blocks away, and bus stops on via Crescenzio provide direct connections to Termini station and major landmarks. The Sit Bus Shuttle from Fiumicino and Ciampino airports stops a 5-minute walk away on via Crescenzio. The neighborhood is safe, well-lit, and feels secure even at night, with many dining and grocery options within a 2-minute walk.

Rooms are compact but functional, featuring cool tiled floors, wooden furniture, and a flat-screen satellite TV. Each room has air conditioning (activated by key card), an electric kettle, a safe, and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, bidet, and hairdryer. Bed sizes vary: double rooms have a large bed that cannot be split, twin rooms offer two single beds, and triple rooms have one double and one single. Some rooms have city views. The bathrooms are small; those over about 1.80 m tall or mid-size-plus body types may find the shower cabin tight. Road-facing rooms can be noisy from street activity and nearby restaurants. The building has a small elevator (fits one person comfortably, or two slim people). Windows have shutters that block light well, and double glazing in some rooms reduces street noise.

A complimentary Italian breakfast is served in a basement breakfast room. It includes hot drinks (espresso, cappuccino, tea), orange juice, fresh croissants, yogurt, cereals, jam tart, muffins, and fruit. The breakfast is entirely sweet, with no savory items such as eggs, cheese, or cold cuts. The coffee is generally considered good. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but the surrounding Prati district has an excellent selection of restaurants, pizzerias, and bars-many within a 2-minute walk: options include TED Lobster and Burgers, Mama Ristobistrot, Passaguai, Roof Garden Les Etoiles, and La Soffitta Renovatio. Breakfast can also be served in the room on request.

The 24-hour front desk staff are multilingual (English, Italian, French) and known for being friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property with reliable speed. Luggage storage is free both before check-in and after check-out. Daily housekeeping is provided; towels and bed linen are changed daily. Room service is available, and irons can be borrowed on request. The hotel also provides a shared lounge/TV area, fax/photocopying (fee), and safety deposit boxes in each room. Accepted payment methods: American Express, Visa, JCB, Maestro, CartaSi, MasterCard. The hotel does not offer a private airport transfer, but can arrange one through a private company (must be booked at least two days prior).
