REGENCY HOTEL WESTEND, London

The hotel is perfectly positioned for exploring central London. Madame Tussauds and Regent's Park are a 3-minute walk away, and the Sherlock Holmes Museum is just around the corner. Several bus stops are nearby, providing excellent connections across the city. London Zoo is a 12-15 minute walk, and the London Palladium is about 15 minutes on foot or a 5-minute taxi ride. The immediate area is a quiet, attractive district with many restaurants, pubs, and cafes within a 5-minute walk. The location is especially convenient for medical appointments near Harley Street and for visitors to Wembley via Baker Street tube. Walking to the West End theatres is around a 20-minute stroll.

The hotel offers a range of room types including singles, doubles, twins, and family rooms. All rooms have private en-suite bathrooms with a shower or bath. The bathrooms are very small, and water pressure can be weak. Rooms are generally compact, described as typical for central London - functional for a city-break sleep but not spacious. The decor is dated in many rooms, with some featuring stained curtains, peeling wallpaper, and worn furniture. A notable number of reports highlight that the lift is often broken, requiring guests to carry luggage up narrow staircases to upper floors. Rooms can also get very warm; some have portable air conditioning units, but others lack cooling. Street-facing rooms may experience noise. Beds vary - some are comfortable, others described as narrow or old. All rooms include a flat-screen TV, tea/coffee-making facilities, a mini-fridge, a safe, an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, and free toiletries. For those seeking a quieter, cooler stay, requesting a rear-facing room is advisable. The single rooms are typically on the ground or first floor.

The hotel does not have its own restaurant or dining room. Breakfast is provided at a property a few doors away and includes a full English option (scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, toast) plus a basic continental selection. The quality can be inconsistent; sometimes the cooked items are well-prepared, at other times they are described as overdone. The breakfast is not included in the standard room rate and costs £7.50 per person. Those wanting more choice may prefer to purchase breakfast at one of many nearby cafes or restaurants such as Le Pain Quotidien, Fischer's, or Cote Brasserie, all within a 5-minute walk. The surrounding Marylebone area has a wealth of dining options for lunch and dinner.
