RUSSAFA YOUTH HOSTEL, Valencia

Russafa Youth Hostel is situated in the popular Ruzafa district, a 10-minute walk from Nord Train Station and less than 10 minutes from Xàtiva Metro Station. A bus stop is about 80 metres away. The historic centre, including the Central Market and Cathedral, is a 20- to 25-minute walk. The City of Arts and Sciences is a 25-minute walk, and the beach can be reached by bus line 19. The area is packed with bars, restaurants, and cafés, and the Ruzafa Market is right next door, ideal for fresh supplies, though street noise from the lively square can be high, especially on weekends or during festivals such as Fallas.

Rooms are simple and functional: each has heating, a fan (or ceiling fan), and some have air conditioning. All face onto the street, with windows looking onto the square or church. Noise from the street and other rooms can carry through thin walls, so light sleepers might find it disruptive. Rooms include a bed, bedside table, a small chair or bench, a mirror, and clothes hooks. No wardrobe, desk, or private bathroom is provided. Sheets and towels are included, changed every couple of days. The shared bathrooms are one per 3 bedrooms - some are older and may have dampness, mould, or wear, while a refurbished unit exists. A small fan and open windows are often needed to keep rooms from getting stuffy.

The property does not serve breakfast and has no restaurant. Guests can use the shared kitchen, which is equipped with a microwave, fridge, electric kettle, cutlery, crockery, and free tea, coffee, and sometimes milk. No stove or oven is available for cooking. The surrounding Ruzafa neighbourhood is filled with cafés, bakeries, and restaurants within a 5-minute walk, offering plenty of options for meals. The Ruzafa market next door is useful for picking up fresh fruit and picnic supplies.

The hostel does not have a swimming pool, spa, wellness centre, or planned activities. The property's leisure value comes entirely from its setting in the vibrant Ruzafa district, with numerous bars, cafés, and the Ruzafa market just outside. The beach is accessible via bus line 19, and the City of Arts and Sciences is a 25-minute walk. Bike rental shops are located about 300 metres away. The hostel offers a secure ground-floor bike storage room with locks.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, with the password available in the lobby. Free lockers are provided (locks are available free of charge). Luggage storage is also free and can be used before check-in and after check-out from 09:00 to 22:00. Express check-in/check-out is available. The property has CCTV in common areas and fire extinguishers. An invoice can be provided. No lift is available - rooms are on the first and second floors via narrow stairs. There is no on-site parking, but a paid public car park is located directly under the Ruzafa Market next door. No airport shuttle is available.
