SHORTSUIDO, Tokyo

The hotel sits in a calm, safe neighbourhood with a 7-Eleven directly across the road and multiple local restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops within a 10-minute walk. A 15-minute walk reaches several useful metro lines, giving direct access to Shinjuku and Tokyo Station (about 20 minutes by train). The Kagurazaka dining and culture area is an easy walk. Haneda Airport is 22 km away. For car-free trips, the metro is the most practical option; there is no parking.

Rooms are configured with two single beds that can be moved together. The minimalist style features modern furnishings, quality materials, large windows with blackout shades, and good natural light. Each room includes a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer and bidet. Several guests note that first-floor rooms are spacious, and rooms on higher floors have city views. The building has no elevator and steep stairs, so ground-floor rooms are best for guests with heavy luggage or mobility concerns. Some sound transfer between rooms may occur, but the quiet neighbourhood helps limit external noise.

The ground floor houses BANRAI HANTEN, serving Chinese/Taiwanese cuisine for lunch and dinner in a modern, romantic setting (open Wed-Fri 18:00-23:00, Sat 12:00-14:00 & 16:00-22:00, Sun 12:00-14:00 & 16:00-22:00). Next door, stroll inn coffee stand offers pour-over coffee and pastries. There is also a snack bar and wine/champagne available for an additional charge. For self-catering, the shared kitchen on the second floor is equipped with a microwave, stove, refrigerator and kettle, and a large communal table is available for meals.

Wellness and leisure facilities are limited to the shared lounge/TV area. The residential location is well suited for relaxed neighbourhood walks; nearby attractions include Nichirinji Temple (3-minute walk), Printing Museum Tokyo (400 m), and Koishikawa Suwa Shrine and Daien-ji Temple (each under 1 km). For more active recreation, the metro provides quick access to central Tokyo.

The hotel provides free Wi-Fi throughout, a shared kitchen, a laundry room with free-use washing machine and dryer, and a shared lounge/TV area. Check-in and check-out are self-service via an automated kiosk, with an invoice provided. Same-day luggage storage is available for pre-check-in or post-check-out (shared storage area). The unmanned reception means that luggage storage is not available before or after the same day; the ground-floor café can be used as a waiting area during its opening hours (closed Monday and Tuesday). Safety features include CCTV, fire extinguishers, security alarm and smoke alarms. No pets are allowed.
