Rooms facing the inner courtyard are significantly quieter than street-facing ones.

The beds are noted for being hard and noisy, with thin mattresses and squeaky frames. The property is very thin-walled and sound carries easily from neighboring rooms and the stairwell. The top-floor rooms in summer become very hot and stuffy.
