The location is very walkable; while nearby street parking is limited and time-restricted, paid parking lots are available. Driving is not recommended for those staying multiple nights due to the 2-hour free parking limits and the need to move the car regularly.

Rooms include linen, towels, lockable storage units, fans, fly screens, power sockets, blockout blinds, and private entrances. Dorm beds also have individual reading lights. Each bunk has a curtain for privacy. The rooms lack air conditioning; ceiling fans are provided but can be insufficient during summer heat, making sleep difficult. Noise from the bar and common areas can be significant until 23:00, with corridor noise continuing later; rooms near common areas are particularly affected. Private rooms are basic but comfortable, though they share bathrooms. The storage cages under beds have removable lids, so bringing your own padlock is recommended to secure items. Dorms are spacious, with enough room for luggage, and bathrooms are shared across floors.

The breakfast selection includes sourdough bread, croissants, cheese, ham, tomatoes, various milks (including oat and almond), and juice. Breakfast is served from around 8:00, and the kitchen is well-stocked with ample seating. The breakfast is consistently described as generous and a strong start to the day. The property does not have a restaurant, but there is a bar on-site for drinks and socializing. Several dining options are within a 300-metre walk, including Ora, Manly Charcoal Chicken, and others, offering a wide range of cuisines for lunch or dinner. The commercial communal kitchen allows guests to prepare their own meals.

Equipment hire includes surfboards, cruiser bikes, snorkels, skateboards, and beach games, all available from reception at no extra cost for 2-hour slots. The hostel also organizes weekly special events and outings, themed dinner nights, pub crawls, movie nights, and live sport broadcasts. Indoor leisure includes a billiards table, table tennis, a games room, and a cinema room. The property does not have a swimming pool or spa, but the beach is just 200 metres away.
