THE LIGHTS HOSTEL, Malaga

The hostel is in the heart of Málaga, within easy walking distance of all major sights. The beach is a 1 km walk, and the main train station (Malaga Centro Alameda) is 600 metres away. The airport is 8 km from the hostel and easily reached by a 5-minute walk to the Alameda station, then a direct train ride. The market and many bars and restaurants are right on the doorstep. The central location means most attractions and transport hubs are reachable on foot, reducing the need for taxis or buses.

A range of dormitories are available, including mixed and female-only options, some with private ensuite bathrooms. Each bed features a curtain for privacy, a personal locker (bring your own padlock or buy one for 2.50 €), a reading light, and a power socket. Air conditioning is centrally controlled and can be adjusted by requesting staff. The property has a lift for access to upper floors. Beds may be less suitable for larger travellers as the upper bunks are high and require some agility to climb. Some rooms face the street and can be noisy at night, so light sleepers may prefer an interior room.

Breakfast is a buffet served on the roof terrace at 5 €. The hostel has a well-equipped shared kitchen for self-catering. There is no on-site restaurant, but the snack bar offers drinks and light snacks. A communal dinner is often organised on the terrace in the evenings, available for around 5-7 €. The location in the city centre places the property right next to the Atarazanas market and many bars and restaurants within a 5-minute walk.

There is no pool, spa, or gym on site. The main wellness and leisure offering is the lively social programme: free evening sangria on the roof terrace, walking tours, and regular pub crawls (10 €). Activities like beach volleyball and city tours are also organised. The terrace is a central meeting point for guests, especially in the evenings. The property does not have a dedicated wellness area or sports facilities beyond these organised events.

Services include daily housekeeping (free), a safety deposit box, lockers (free, bring your own padlock), and luggage storage free of charge for early arrivals or late departures. Laundry service (wash and dry) is available for 7 €. The 24-hour reception can assist with late check-in and general queries. There is a lift, wheelchair access, and a shared lounge/TV area. A minimarket is on site for convenience items. Business services include fax/photocopying at an additional charge. The hostel does not offer bike storage, airport shuttle, or parking.
