Several subway lines (2, 3 and others) are within 5 to 10 minutes on foot, providing direct routes to JFK and Newark airports, Times Square and the Staten Island Ferry terminal. Behind the hotel, a pedestrian-only cobblestone street lined with restaurants and bars creates a lively evening atmosphere, but street-facing rooms may hear live music until late. The neighbourhood is quiet at night for a downtown location and feels safe even for late walks. Parking is not available on site but a discounted garage is across the street.

Each room includes a private bathroom with a walk-in shower or bathtub (some have a jacuzzi only in deluxe direct bookings), free toiletries, ironing facilities, soundproof walls, climate control, a seating area and city views. Double-double rooms have two full-sized beds; folding cots are available on a limited basis. Rooms tend to be spacious by Manhattan standards, often including a separate foyer area. Some rooms have large windows on two sides, bringing in good natural light. The furnishings are vintage - Victorian-style or early American - and the hotel is clean. However, fixtures show wear: carpet in some rooms, tired furniture in need of updating. A handful of units have reported plumbing or cleanliness issues; touring the room on arrival is recommended for satisfaction. Ventilation is limited as windows only open a few centimetres; the air conditioning is effective but can be noisy. Road-facing rooms are louder due to the restaurant street behind the hotel; guests who need full quiet should request an interior or higher-floor room. The elevator serves all floors; the staircase is narrow.

Breakfast includes individually wrapped croissants, waffles made to order, bagels, toast, cereals, yogurt and coffee. The selection is consistent daily, without hot proteins, fresh fruit, juice or cold cuts; those wanting a heartier start will find several cafés and bagel shops within a 5-minute walk. The breakfast room is small and doubles as part of the lobby. Coffee and tea are available free in the lobby at all times. There is no restaurant or bar on site, but the area behind the hotel on Pearl Street and Stone Street offers many casual dining and drinking options within 0.5 km: pizzeria, lobster rolls, bagels, taverns and wine bars.

The fitness centre is compact but functional, with modern equipment. The separate sauna and steam room offer a welcome relaxation option after a day in the city. No swimming pool or spa treatments are available; no on-site spa services are offered. These facilities are complimentary and accessible during normal operating hours. The area around the hotel is ideal for walking - Battery Park, the waterfront and the Brooklyn Bridge are within a short stroll.
