THE WATERSIDE INN, Mississauga

The Waterside Inn sits right on the waterfront in the Port Credit district of Mississauga, 10 minutes from downtown Mississauga and 25 minutes from downtown Toronto. The Port Credit GO station is a 5-minute walk, offering direct trains to Union Station in about 25 minutes. Toronto Pearson International Airport is a 20-minute drive. The area is extremely walkable, with many restaurants, bars, and shops along Lakeshore Road. Lake Ontario and the marina are directly next to the hotel, ideal for scenic walks and jogging. Construction noise from a nearby city project has been noted, particularly at night.

All rooms are suites featuring a separate bedroom, living room, and fully equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, and dishwasher. Most suites have a private balcony, and the majority of rooms offer views of Lake Ontario or the harbour (lake views cannot be guaranteed). Some suites include a washer/dryer. The accommodations are spacious but generally considered outdated, with older furniture, worn carpets, and occasional maintenance problems such as broken appliances or leaking faucets. Air conditioning and heating are provided, but temperature control may be limited. Bed configurations vary-queen, double, and pull-out sofas are available. Private bathrooms are standard. Some rooms have been described as musty or dusty; it is advisable to inspect the kitchen for utensils and cookware on arrival, as supplies are minimal. For a quieter stay, request a higher floor away from Lakeshore Road.

The Waterside Inn does not operate a restaurant, café, or bar, and no breakfast is served. For meals, you have numerous choices within a 5-minute walk, including Italian, pizza, pub food, Greek, and Mexican (such as Breakwater Restaurant, Papa Giuseppe's Pizza & Pints, Spice Lounge and Tapas, Pump House Grille Co, El Jefe, and Souvlaki Hut). A small grocery store is about 5 minutes away, and a full supermarket is a 15-minute walk. The in-suite kitchen is available for self-catering, but basic cookware and utensils may be lacking; these can be requested from reception.

The hotel offers a free fitness centre with basic equipment, but it has been reported as outdated and partly non-functional, and may not always be accessible. There is no swimming pool, spa, or sauna. For outdoor activities, canoeing is available at a nearby off-site location (additional charges may apply), and a golf course is within 3 km (additional charges). The primary leisure draw is the setting-walking along the Lake Ontario waterfront, exploring Port Credit's shops and restaurants, or using the GO train to reach Toronto attractions.

Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Free on-site parking is offered on a first-come, first-served basis; when full, paid off-site parking is available at $14-20 per night. Pets are allowed (up to 11.3 kg) with a $20 daily cleaning fee plus a $500 refundable security deposit. The hotel is entirely non-smoking. Services include a 24-hour front desk, concierge, free daily housekeeping (though some inconsistencies have been reported), luggage storage, a business centre, and meeting/banquet facilities (additional charges apply). Laundry facilities: some suites have in-suite washer/dryer; a pay laundry room is also available in the basement. Safety deposit boxes are provided at reception.
