BEST WESTERN VICTORIA PALACE, London

Located in the heart of Westminster, the hotel is 500 metres from Victoria Rail, Underground, and Coach Stations, with Pimlico Tube (Victoria Line) a 10-minute walk away. Major attractions including Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, and the London Eye are within a 10- to 20-minute walk. The area is considered safe and relatively quiet at night, with a range of pubs, restaurants, and a corner convenience store just across the street. For airport arrivals, the Gatwick Express reaches Victoria Station in 30 minutes; Heathrow Express to Paddington then the Circle Line to Victoria takes about 30 minutes. The hotel sits on a street surrounded by other hotels, offering a calm residential feel while being within easy reach of busy shopping on Oxford Street and the Theatre District. Public transport, including buses and the Tube, provides convenient access to all parts of London.

The hotel offers single, double, twin, triple, quadruple, family rooms, and suites, with some rooms located in a separate annex building across the road. Standard rooms are noted to be compact, often with limited space for luggage, and some basement rooms have small windows facing light wells. Many rooms feature air conditioning, a tea and coffee maker, a safe, a satellite TV, a hairdryer, and a work desk. Bed sizes and comfort vary; some describe the beds as comfortable while others find them narrow or firm. Soundproofing is present but not always effective, and noise from other rooms or the street can be an issue in certain rooms, particularly those facing the road. The lift operates only in the main building; no lift is available in the annex. A limited number of cots are available upon request. Some rooms are reported to have been recently refurbished and feel clean and fresh, while others show signs of wear and tear. Rooms do not include a private bathroom in the main hotel (misleading source fact discarded). For those needing more space, suites or rooms with a kitchenette are occasionally available, typically via upgrade.

Breakfast includes a hot buffet with eggs (fried, scrambled, boiled), sausages, ham, baked beans, tomatoes, baked croissants, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese, toast, jam, butter, and hot and cold beverages. The breakfast room is described as contemporary and cosy. The hotel has no restaurant for lunch or dinner, but the immediate area offers numerous dining options within a short walk. Breakfast must be booked and paid for at check-in; it is not included in all rates, particularly for rooms in the annex. For early departures, a bag breakfast can sometimes be arranged upon request. The breakfast quality is generally well-regarded, though some note the cooked eggs can be consistently overdone.
