WYNDHAM GARDEN HOTEL - JACKSONVILLE, Jacksonville

The hotel sits in Jacksonville's Southpoint district with direct access to I-95, making it a practical base for driving to city landmarks like EverBank Field (14 km), the Museum of Science & History (12 km), or the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center (14 km). The Mayo Clinic is 10 km away, UF Health about 15 minutes' drive, and the cruise port roughly 29 km north. Dave & Buster's is less than 0.5 km on foot, and a variety of casual restaurants-Fresh Mex, Applebee's, Zaxby's-are within 1 km. The hotel is well placed for a one-night stopover or for access to the hospital district, though a car is essential for most errands.

Rooms come with private bathrooms, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, free toiletries, and a coffee maker. Each unit has a mini-refrigerator and microwave but no kitchenette. Adjoining rooms are available (one king + two double beds connected by a door) for families or groups. The property is fully non-smoking and has a lift. Room comfort tends to be bed-focused: pillows and linens are rated highly, but cleanliness and maintenance can be inconsistent across visits. The public hallways may carry ambient noise from slamming doors and the elevator, so rooms on lower floors, away from the elevator and ice machine, are the best bet for a quiet sleep.

The Red Gill Bistro is the hotel's full-service restaurant, operating from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM for breakfast and 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM for dinner. Breakfast must be ordered and paid for through the restaurant's online menu; no complimentary breakfast is included. Dinner service also uses a QR-code menu and adds an 18% gratuity. The restaurant offers kids' meals, special diet menus on request, and wine or champagne at an additional charge. For variety, guests within a short walk can find Fresh Mex & Co Urban Grill and Cantina, Akel's Deli, Kazu Sushi Burrito, and several other casual eateries.

The outdoor swimming pool is a central leisure feature, open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM year-round, weather permitting. The pool area includes a sun terrace and outdoor furniture. The fitness room is equipped with the basics, though it is compact. There is no spa or wellness center on site. The hotel also offers a welcome drink and happy hour at an additional charge.

The hotel provides free on-site parking (no reservation needed), with accessible parking spots available. Internet is free throughout the property. A business center with fax and photocopier is complimentary, and meeting/banquet facilities can be arranged for a fee. Daily housekeeping is included, and laundry service is available for an extra charge. The front desk operates 24 hours a day, with English and Spanish spoken; guests can request area guidance. Safety features include CCTV, smoke alarms, key card access, and a safety deposit box in each room. Pets are allowed on request (dogs only, under 11 kg, two per room, daily fee). The property has a lift and is wheelchair accessible, but note that accessible rooms are smaller and may not fit a large power wheelchair comfortably.
