The hostel occupies a prime position in the heart of The Rocks, surrounded by heritage buildings, boutique shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars. It is 650 metres from the Museum of Contemporary Art and within easy walking distance of Bridge Climb, the Royal Botanic Gardens, and Circular Quay. For transport, Wynyard Station is a 7- to 10-minute flat walk, and the Bridge Street light rail stop is the same distance. The Overseas Passenger Terminal for cruise ships is a 5-minute walk downhill. The circular Quay area offers abundant public transport including trains, ferries, and buses. Note that the walk from Circular Quay station involves uphill stairs, making Wynyard the preferred access for travellers with heavy luggage.

The property offers both private rooms (double, twin/double, family, King, Queen) and shared dormitories (4- or 6-bed, including female-only options). Dormitory beds are equipped with personal reading lights, power sockets, and privacy curtains. Lockers are provided in dorm rooms, but a lock must be purchased at reception. Shared bathrooms on each level supplement en-suite bathrooms. Dormitory rooms do not have TVs, but the twin double and family rooms do. Room cooling relies on centrally managed air conditioning in dorms, which can be a challenge in warm weather. Travelers sensitive to noise should note that some rooms face a live-music pub and that walls are thin. A small number of accessible rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are available on request.

Breakfast offers a continental spread including mini croissants, muffins, cereals, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, juices, tea, and coffee. Local cafes within a short walk provide hot breakfast options and stronger coffee. The café on site operates 24/7 with an à la carte menu for full-service lunch and dinner, serving coffee, snacks, and meals. The rooftop bar, open from afternoon until 10:30pm, offers food (including pizza) and drinks; it is a popular spot for evening socialising. Vending machines and a convenience store are also available on the property.

The hostel runs a varied schedule of free and paid activities designed for social connection. Typical weekly offerings include yoga at 7:30am on Monday, a coastal walk on Tuesday at 10:30am, a BBQ on Thursday at 6pm, pilates on Saturday at 9am, and a city walk plus BBQ on Sunday at 10am and 6pm. These events rotate and may change during holiday periods. Hiking, walking tours, and tours about local culture are also available (some free, some with a charge). A fully equipped communal kitchen is available 24/7, and the rooftop bar hosts live music on weekend evenings. There is no swimming pool or spa on site.

The reception desk is open 24 hours every day, allowing late arrivals and early departures without restriction. Free luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out; lockers for secure storage cost $5 (small), $7 (medium), or $9 (large) per day. Laundry facilities with coin-operated washers and dryers are available; an iron and ironing board are located in the laundry room (iron can be borrowed at reception). The shared kitchen includes multiple stovetops, sinks, communal fridges, and all basic cookware and utensils. A free water refill station is provided. The property has a lift serving levels 0 to 3, and several rooms have accessible bathrooms for wheelchair users. No shuttle or airport transfer service is available.
