ABID'S PALACE IN TERMINI, Rome

The guesthouse sits in a central neighbourhood with easy access to public transport: Vittorio Emanuele Metro is 400 metres away and Colosseo Metro 1 km. Many major sights are within walking distance, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Trevi Fountain. Termini Station provides train, metro, and bus links to all parts of the city and airports. The immediate area has numerous restaurants, cafés, and supermarkets within a 5-minute walk. The street can be lively and the tram line creates noise; rooms facing the courtyard are quieter.

Room types include triple, twin/double, and family rooms, all with private bathrooms featuring a shower, bidet, and hairdryer. Each room has a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, minibar, electric kettle, and tea/coffee facilities. Some rooms have a balcony with city views, while others overlook an interior courtyard. The family room includes a separate sleeping area with bunk beds for children. Daily housekeeping tidies the room and changes towels every two days. Soundproofing is limited - thin walls and shared doors between rooms mean noise from neighbours and the tram can be heard. A few rooms have a connecting door to an adjacent room, offering little privacy. Heating and air conditioning are available, though the system may take time to adjust. Hot water can take several minutes to reach the shower.

The property does not offer meals, but a shared kitchen in the common area provides a microwave, electric kettle, and basic dishes. Many restaurants, trattorias, and cafés are within a 2-minute walk, offering Italian, Asian, and international cuisine. Nearby supermarkets are convenient for self-catering.

WiFi is available free of charge with a basic speed of 7 Mbps, suitable for streaming and video calls but can be inconsistent. Luggage storage is offered for a fee before check-in and after check-out, though it is unattended. Check-in is self-service via WhatsApp; upon arrival you call the host for entry instructions and a keybox code. There is no reception desk. Daily housekeeping changes towels and empties bins but does not always change sheets. A lift serves the first-floor property, but it may occasionally be out of service. The building has 24-hour security with CCTV and a safety deposit box in the room. No parking, no on-site laundry, and no pets are allowed.
