OSCAR 2, Rome

Oscar 2 is a 3-minute walk from Rome Termini Train Station and 4 minutes from Santa Maria Maggiore, placing it within a 15- to 20-minute walk of the Colosseum and other central attractions. Roma Ciampino Airport is 14 km away. The surrounding streets are dense with affordable restaurants and cafés, with a supermarket and a launderette also nearby. The central station provides direct metro (Line A and B), tram, and bus connections to the Vatican, Spanish Steps, and Trastevere, making this an ideal base for car-free sightseeing. The street itself is relatively quiet, but road-facing rooms may still pick up noise.

Rooms are small - double and triple options each with one double bed or two single beds. All rooms include a private bathroom with a bath, shower, and bidet, plus free toiletries. Standard features are air conditioning, heating, soundproofed windows, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, an electric kettle with tea and coffee, and a wardrobe. Rooms with a balcony offer city views. Some bathrooms have a macerator pump that produces a brief grinding noise when flushing or using taps, and temperature can be inconsistent. Road-facing rooms with older windows can let in street noise; rooms on higher floors or facing the courtyard tend to be quieter. The rooms are functional, with a clean, simple decor - suitable for travellers prioritising location and value over space.

The property does not offer breakfast, but there is a shared kitchen with a microwave, fridge, and a capsule coffee machine - capsules and bottled water are supplied free of charge. There is no oven or stovetop for cooking. The immediate area is filled with restaurants, pizzerias, and cafés within a 0.5 km radius, serving a wide range of cuisines at affordable prices. A supermarket is close by for supplies. For a fuller breakfast, the cafés opposite the property have been noted for good coffee.
