AC HOTEL BY MARRIOTT CHARLOTTE BALLANTYNE, Charlotte

The hotel sits in a convenient shopping centre with easy access to Southpark Mall (13 km) and Carowinds Amusement Park (15 km). The area is safe and has over a dozen dining options within a 5-minute walk, including Rush Espresso Cafe, Jade Asian Fusion, and Duckworth's Grill. For downtown Charlotte, taxis or rideshares are recommended as public transit is limited. Complimentary on-site parking makes car travel practical.

Accommodation options include double, king, suite, and family rooms. Standard rooms have walk-in showers; accessible rooms have tubs. Many rooms offer views, but those on the parking lot side require curtains for privacy and may face noise from the adjacent garage. Some rooms are directly below the gym, causing overhead noise. Bedding is firm, which may not suit all preferences. There are no drawers; storage is limited to open benches. Bathrooms have a sliding barn door that lacks sound privacy. A public microwave is available in the lobby. Housekeeping is not automatic; requests must be made before noon for same-day service.

Breakfast is available Monday-Friday 6:30-9:30, Saturday-Sunday 7:00-10:00. The buffet includes freshly made local and European foods plus a premium coffee machine. À la carte options are also available. The hotel's bar offers cocktails and a relaxing atmosphere, and the rooftop bar (Hestia) provides panoramic city views. For other meals, the surrounding area has a wide variety of restaurants within walking distance, including American, Asian, and Mexican cuisine. Note that breakfast is not included in the room rate.

The gym is spacious with many machines and offers city views. A yoga studio is available for stretching and wellness. Sun loungers and an outdoor fireplace are on the terrace. There is no pool on site. The rooftop bar doubles as a leisure space with ambient music.

Parking is complimentary in the deck behind the hotel. Business centre, meeting rooms, and express check-in/out are provided. Accessibility features include wheelchair access, braille signage, and grab rails. Additional services: dry cleaning (charge), safety deposit box, minimarket on site. Pets are not allowed. A credit card is required for a $50 per night incidental hold. Check-in is at 15:00, check-out at 12:00. Luggage storage is available for a fee.
