ALPER HOTEL AM POTSDAMER PLATZ, Berlin

Kurfürstenstrasse U-Bahn (U1) is 600 m away, providing a 5-minute ride to KaDeWe on Kurfürstendamm. Bus stops M49 and M85 are directly outside, connecting to various city destinations. Berlin Philharmonic and Sony Centre are 15 minutes on foot. The area is dense with restaurants and cafes within a 0.5 km radius, covering cuisines from Filipino to German. While the immediate block includes a nightclub and strip club, the location gives easy access to major landmarks and transport hubs. For airport transfers, use public transport - no shuttle is available.

The hotel offers standard single and twin rooms (no queen or king beds). Bathrooms have shower cabins renovated in 2013; hairdryers can be requested at reception. Room sizes vary: some are spacious with a good view, others compact with limited storage (only a few hangers). There is no air conditioning, and summer heat can be uncomfortable - fans are available on request. Soundproofing is minimal; rooms facing the street or near the nightclub are subject to loud music and traffic noise, especially Friday and Saturday nights. Requesting a room on the left side of the corridor or overlooking the courtyard significantly improves quietness. Decor and cleanliness are inconsistent - some rooms feel dated and worn, while others are well-maintained.

The hotel does not serve breakfast, operate a restaurant, or provide a bar. Meals must be planned elsewhere. The surrounding streets offer diverse options all about 0.5 km away: Rocket & Basil, Joseph-Roth-Diele, AYAN (Filipino street food), Kin Dee, Saeson Restaurant & Bar, Maultaschen Manufaktur, Cay Tre Quan, and Golvet. A bakery opposite the hotel is convenient for a quick morning meal. There is a vending machine in the lobby with drinks and snacks for basic needs.
