OLD TOWN APARTMENTS, Berlin

The apartments are at Schönhauser Allee 5, in Berlin's vibrant Prenzlauer Berg district. The Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz U-Bahn station is a 2-minute walk away, putting Museum Island and central sights within easy reach. Alexanderplatz is a 10-minute stroll, and tram and bus stops are also steps from the door. The immediate area is packed with bars, restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and a large Rewe supermarket open until 23:30 (closed Sundays). Despite the lively street, inner-courtyard apartments remain quiet. No on-site parking exists, but paid street parking and nearby garages are available.

Old Town Apartments offer four types of self-contained units. Studio and Studio Plus (sleeps 4) have a single-room layout with a double sofa bed and all bedding in one space, plus two single beds in the Studio and a fold-out sofa in the Studio Plus. Family apartments (sleeps 6, one bathroom) and Family Plus (sleeps 8, two bathrooms, balcony) have separate bedrooms and a living area. All units feature a flat-screen TV, electric kettle, cookware, tea and coffee facilities, and ironing equipment. Heating is adjustable and windows open wide. Apartments in the inner courtyard are notably quiet, though Family apartments sit on floors 2-4 of a walk-up building. Beds are generally comfortable but softer than average.

There is no on-site restaurant or breakfast offering. Every apartment includes a kitchen with an oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and ample cookware, making self-catering straightforward. A large Rewe supermarket is a 1-minute walk away (open until 23:30, closed Sundays), and many cafés, bakeries, and restaurants line Schönhauser Allee, including Fleischerei and Zeit für Brot within 0.5 km. A ground-floor Späti sells fresh bread rolls in the morning.

Wi-Fi is available free of charge in all apartments and works well for general use. The reception office (ground floor, same building) is open daily 9:00-17:00 and offers luggage storage, maps, and local tips. For arrivals after 17:00, a contactless self-check-in with a keycode is provided. Bicycle stands in the courtyard allow secure bike storage. An ATM is on site. No elevator is available, and no laundry is in the apartments; a laundromat is a 10-minute walk or one tram stop away. Express check-in/check-out and private check-in/check-out are offered. No airport shuttle is available.
