The Duomo is also about 15 minutes away on foot. The main train station (Santa Maria Novella) is a 20-minute walk, and the airport tram stop there is reachable in about 15 minutes on foot via the scenic route. Several bus stops are nearby for connections across the city, including bus 11. The street is car-free, ensuring quiet, and the neighborhood is filled with cafés, restaurants, and artisan workshops. The location allows you to enjoy a local Florentine atmosphere while staying close to the historical centre.

Rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and feature modern or traditionally Italian style with tiled floors. In-room amenities include a wardrobe with shelves and coat hangers, a full-sized mirror, a safe, and a refrigerator. Beds are very comfortable, and soundproof windows effectively block street noise, making the rooms exceptionally quiet. City-view or inner courtyard-view rooms are available; note that interior level differences exist in some rooms (steps between spaces). For a wider selection of restaurants, the host provides a list categorized by time of day (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and local recommendations. The area is known for authentic Florentine cuisine and is significantly less busy than the tourist core across the river.

There is no spa, swimming pool, or fitness centre at Althea Rooms. The property's leisure offering is its exceptional setting: a quiet car-free street within strolling distance of Boboli Gardens (5 minutes), Pitti Palace, the panoramic viewpoint at Piazzale Michelangelo (a short bus ride), and the vibrant Piazza di Santo Spirito. The local area features artisan workshops, boutiques, and a relaxed café culture. Key access and safety features are present: 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, key card access, and a security alarm.
