Place d'Armes and the iconic Château Frontenac are steps away. The surrounding area is packed with restaurants, cafés and shops, with many dining options within 0.5 km. Major attractions like Dufferin Terrace, the steps to Lower Town, and the Notre-Dame de Québec Cathedral are within a very short walk. The Carnaval de Québec site is also close by. The cruise terminal is about 15 minutes on foot, and the VIA Rail station (Gare du Palais) is about 15 minutes by taxi. A three-minute walk to the City Hall parking garage covers car storage; a 10-minute loading zone exists at the front for luggage drop-off.

Room types include double rooms with queen beds, rooms with king beds, and suites with a sofa bed. Many rooms have original masonry walls, hardwood or parquet floors, and a flat-screen cable TV. Coffee machines are provided. Some rooms face the street, while others are quieter at the back. Rooms can be on the smaller side, and noise from the bistro and other rooms may be audible. Rooms with views of Place d'Armes or Château Frontenac are available but sit above the restaurant. Rooms without windows exist. Staff can assist with luggage up the stairs.

Bistro 1640 offers French and local dishes, with vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options available. It is open daily from 12:00 to 21:30. A bar and kids' meals are also available. Breakfast is no longer served by the restaurant; the front desk can recommend nearby breakfast spots. Hotel guests may receive a discount for breakfast at the bistro. Many dining alternatives are within a 0.5 km walk.

Recreation is limited to the immediate old-town environment: walking tours, shopping, and seasonal events like the Carnaval de Québec and Cirque du Soleil's Les Chemins Invisibles are within walking distance.
