BED ONE BLOCK HOSTEL, Bangkok

The hostel is on a quiet side street off the main road, only steps from the BTS Skytrain. Ratchathewi station connects to Siam (15 minutes on foot, one stop by train), where you'll find Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, and MBK. Phaya Thai station is a 10-minute walk away, providing the Airport Rail Link to Suvarnabhumi Airport (30 minutes, 45 THB). By taxi from Suvarnabhumi, the fare is approximately 350 THB; from Don Mueang, around 270 THB. A 7-Eleven is right around the corner, and numerous street food stalls, restaurants, and massage parlours are within a short walk. For river travel, Hua Chan pier is 5 minutes away.

Bed One Block offers mixed-gender dorms with 8 or 10 beds, and a female-only 8-bed dorm. Female dorms also include options from 2 beds upwards. Each bed is fitted with a thick mattress, a personal reading light, an electrical socket, and a privacy curtain. Large lockers are provided - you can bring your own padlock or buy one for 60 THB. Rooms include a sofa bed and a LED TV. The shared bathrooms are located on each floor (same level as the rooms) and are cleaned regularly; they come with free toiletries (shampoo, soap) and a hairdryer. The dorm rooms are spacious, and the atmosphere is quiet and calm, making it easy to rest. Note that there is no elevator - the stairs are steep, which may be challenging with heavy luggage.

Breakfast consists of toast, milk, coffee, and fresh fruits - a light start to the day. For additional cravings, the common area offers free coffee, tea, and cookies throughout the day. There is no restaurant or bar, but the surrounding streets are lined with affordable local restaurants, street food stalls, and cafes. A 7-Eleven is less than a minute away for drinks and snacks. Several halal restaurants are within walking distance.

The hostel itself does not have a swimming pool, spa, or fitness centre. However, it provides a shared lounge with board games, a computer, and a book exchange. Sun umbrellas are available. For more structured entertainment, the sister hostel, Bed Station Hostel, offers free evening activities such as cooking classes, Thai language classes, and movie nights. Guests are welcome to participate. A friendly cat named Khaosan often stays in the common area, adding to the relaxed atmosphere.

WiFi is free throughout the property. Luggage storage is available at no charge before check-in and after check-out - you can also use the shower during that time. A washing machine and dryer are available for laundry. Lockers with key card access provide security, and the property has 24-hour CCTV, smoke alarms, and a safety deposit box. Reception is staffed from 14:00 to 20:00; after 20:00, a self-check-in system is in place (keycard retrieved from a mailbox using a PIN provided in advance). An iron is available free of charge. No parking is offered. Accepted payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, JCB, and UnionPay. The hostel is non-smoking throughout.
