THE CUBE HOSTEL SILOM, Bangkok

The hostel is set in a quiet courtyard off a lively area, keeping rooms away from street noise despite being within a 5-minute walk of both Silom MRT (blue line) and Sala Daeng BTS stations. Direct rail access connects to Suvarnabhumi Airport (via Airport Rail Link + MRT) and Don Mueang Airport (via public transport transfers). Lumphini Park is a 10-minute walk away for morning jogs or green relaxation. Patpong Night Market, Saladaeng Market, and numerous food stalls, cafés, and restaurants are within 300-500 m. The surrounding laneway has food stalls in the evening, and local eateries are found on every nearby street.

Each sleeping pod includes a privacy curtain, reading light, power socket, and personal safety deposit box. Towels and bed linens are provided, and lockers (with padlock provided) fit backpacks but not large suitcases. Air conditioning is available in all rooms, though front-facing cubes can feel warmer; lower bunks tend to be cooler and easier to access. Noise levels are generally low - the hostel is set back from the main street, and dorms are quiet at night, though ear plugs can help with sounds from other occupants. Some dormitories have experienced maintenance issues such as faulty door locks or worn fixtures, so it is worth checking recent conditions on arrival. Rooms do not have balconies. A women-only dorm is available upon request.

Breakfast runs on a self-service basis, offering toast, fruit jam selections (strawberry, pineapple, orange), and hot drinks - all included in the room rate. The hostel provides a shared kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, kettle, and crockery. For a fuller meal, the surrounding Silom district offers countless local eateries, street food stalls, and international restaurants within a 2-5-minute walk, from cheap eats at the night market to upscale dining at nearby options such as nahm or Zanotti. There is no restaurant on site, and bar drinks are not available.

The hostel does not have a swimming pool, spa, or fitness centre. Leisure facilities consist of an outdoor garden area (with a long table) and an indoor shared lounge with a TV, sofa, and books - suitable for relaxing, meeting other travellers, or working remotely. The garden is small and shaded. For exercise, Lumphini Park is a 10-minute walk and offers jogging paths, paddle boats, and open green space.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the building and is reliable enough for remote work. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/out and tour desk services where local tours (e.g., floating market, Ayutthaya) can be booked with pickup from the hostel. Luggage storage is available at no extra cost before check-in and after check-out. Laundry service is provided for an additional charge. The business centre includes computers and is also free. Shared bathrooms feature showers with warm water and good pressure on upper floors, though periodic wear and tear has been observed. A drinks vending machine is on site. No iron is available for borrowing.
