The hotel sits directly on the Outer Banks oceanfront with a private access path over the dunes to the beach. A two-story sand dune separates the property from the shoreline, so lower-floor and dune-view rooms face the dune rather than the water. Nags Head is 7 km south and Duck 19 km north. Within a 0.5 km walk are several restaurants including Dairy Queen, Thai Room, Sal's New York Pizza, and Port O' Call Restaurant. The Wright Brothers National Memorial is visible from the front of the hotel.

The hotel offers only suite-style accommodations. Each suite has one bedroom and a living room separated by the kitchen and vanity area. The kitchenette is equipped with a full-size refrigerator with freezer, microwave, dishwasher, sink, cookware, and a single-serve coffee maker.
