The tram stop is about seven minutes on foot, and the beach and Promenade des Anglais are a 15-20 minute walk. Vieux Nice is 20 minutes on foot. The area is lively with many restaurants, cafes, a supermarket (Monoprix 100 metres), and a shopping centre across the street. The location is excellent for day trips to Monaco, Cannes, and Antibes. Rooms are compact, with the bathroom especially small - the toilet often sits between the sink and shower, which can be difficult for larger individuals. Standard rooms are basic but functional, with a work desk, wardrobe, and heating. Street-facing rooms can be noisy; rooms at the back or on higher floors are quieter. Only four rooms have a balcony, so request early. Amenities include free toiletries, a hairdryer, and satellite TV. There is no safe, kettle, or minibar; an iron can be borrowed from reception. Daily housekeeping provides towel changes and bed-making; sheets are changed every few days. Some rooms have a fridge. The lift serves all floors, though occasional glitches have occurred. Rooms are best suited for short stays where location and price are priorities over space.
