Situated at Rodeløkka, the hostel is surrounded by cafés, restaurants, and parks like Sofienberg Park, which has table tennis, a playground, and Sofienberg church. Oslo Central Station is a short tram ride away (trams 11, 12, and 13 from Jernbanetorget to Birkelunden, then a 350-meter walk) or you can take bus 30 from Tollboden to Dælenenga, stopping right outside. Airport express buses FB1 and FB5 stop at Københavngata, about 200 meters away. The convenience of a Kiwi supermarket on the ground floor (open Mon-Sat 07:00-23:00) makes self-catering simple. The area is walkable, with the Munch Museum a 17-minute walk away and the city centre reachable on foot in about 30 minutes. For drivers, on-site public parking costs 250 NOK/day but is unreservable and limited. An Oslo City Bike station nearby and the Oslo Pass (free admission to 30 museums and transport) make eco-friendly exploration easy.

Private studios are available in Budget, Standard, and Superior categories, all with a kitchenette (stovetop, fridge, kitchenware) and a private bathroom with shower. The one-bedroom apartment fits up to four with a separate bedroom (140 cm bed + bunk bed), sofa, desk, and kitchen. For groups, whole dorms can be booked for up to 30 people, or you can book individual bunks in themed rooms (e.g., Chocolate Factory, Mermaid Cove). Female-only dorms (Pink Palace, Magic Carpet) are offered. Each dorm bed includes blackout curtains, dimmable lighting, a power outlet, and a key-card-operated locker large enough for a suitcase. Note: many private rooms have limited kitchen utensils (e.g., no kettle, only two plates), so plan accordingly. The building has a lift, and the private-room corridors can feel maze-like. Rooms have heating but may feel basic; some have windows that only open partially, making ventilation an issue in warmer months.

The hostel does not offer a cooked breakfast or a full restaurant. For meals, private studios have a kitchenette for self-cooking. Dorm guests can use the Social Lounge, which has two microwaves, a Quooker hot-water tap, a fridge, and basic utensils. The Barception on the second floor serves drinks and light snacks, and the minibar has items for purchase. A paid coffee machine is also available. Given the limited cooking facilities in dorms (no oven, hobs), planning for simple meals is advisable. The surrounding Grünerløkka neighbourhood has numerous cafés, takeaways, and restaurants (e.g., Vespa & Humla for seasonal pasta, Digg Pizza, Jamal's Falafel), offering plenty of variety for those who prefer to eat out.

The rooftop terrace is the main leisure feature, with plenty of seating, sun loungers, and panoramic views of Oslo's skyline. It is a social hub during the summer months, with organised events. Inside, the Social Club (2nd floor) includes a cinema room for weekly movie nights and karaoke, plus a bar area. The Bunks Running Club meets for evening runs through the city at a social pace, followed by a drink at a nearby bar - all levels welcome. For self-led exploration, Sofienberg Park (with table tennis and a playground) is a short walk away, and the area is rich in live music venues (e.g., Parkteatret, The Villa for techno) and markets (Sunday Market at BLÅ). The Oslo Pass covers entry to 30 museums, including the Munch Museum and the Botanical Garden.

Additional services include a laundry room (surcharge), express check-in/out, and a minimarket on site. Luggage storage is free on the first and second floors and available on arrival and departure day. Parking is public, on-site, 250 NOK/24h but cannot be reserved and availability is not guaranteed. Free bicycle parking is available in the lower garage. The building has a lift, 24-hour security, and smoke alarms. Paid on-site parking is through OnePark; access from the garage to the hotel is via the car ramp (the garage-to-hotel door is locked). The Barception is open from 10:00 until late, and the Social Club hosts evening events. Bed linen and towels are provided, and hairdryers can be borrowed from reception. Shampoo and conditioner are available in the shared showers. No-smoking policy throughout.
