The hotel is a 10-minute drive from the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and about an hour from the Idyllwild entrance to Mount San Jacinto State Park. The centre of Palm Springs is a 30-minute walk away. Several dining options are within a short stroll, including Mr. Lyons (0.5 km), Seymour's (0.5 km), and El Mirasol (0.5 km). A Ralph's supermarket is also nearby. Driving is recommended for getting around, but Ubers are readily available, typically with a wait of under 3 minutes. The property's location makes it convenient for accessing the Convention Center and local hiking trails.

Accommodation ranges from standard rooms to suites with separate living areas. The majority of suites and deluxe rooms have been renovated. Many rooms include a mini refrigerator, flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom. Room types such as the Tahitian Lanai King (TLK) overlook the garden and pool. Some rooms feature a pool view. A microwave can be placed in the room for a service charge of $15+tax. Rooms are generally spacious but vary in condition. Those not yet updated may have worn carpets, peeling wallpaper, and dated furniture. Noise from neighbouring rooms and outside can be an issue. The building's layout means some rooms are on the ground floor, which can be convenient for luggage. All rooms are non-smoking.
