The hotel sits on the south end of the Strip, within walking distance of Luxor, Mandalay Bay, New York-New York, and MGM Grand. A free tram runs between these hotels, making it easy to explore the area without a car. Interstate 15 is 2 km away, and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas is 4 km from the property. The location is convenient for accessing the airport - taxis, ride-shares, and public shuttles are available from baggage claim; the hotel does not offer its own airport transportation.

Rooms in both towers provide a seating area, air conditioning, heating, and a safe deposit box. The Royal Tower has been more recently renovated and generally feels fresher. Rooms in the Resort Tower include the Stay Well rooms (with additional air-purifying features) and Strip View options - confirm the room name includes "View" if you want a city or Strip view. Bathrooms feature a walk-in shower and a hairdryer; some superior rooms have a soaking tub. Room size is generous, but there are no balconies, no coffee machines, and refrigerators cost extra. Noise levels can vary - higher floors and rooms not facing the road are quieter.

The Buffet at Excalibur serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch with a wide selection of international dishes. Other options include Buca di Beppo (Italian), Dick's Last Resort (American), Johnny Rockets, and TAP Sports Bar. A food court on the second floor offers affordable choices like Fatburger, Del Taco, Popeyes, and Starbucks. For lighter meals, Einstein Bros. and Walkers Famous provide breakfast and lunch. Several nearby restaurants are within a 5-minute walk - such as Robert Irvine's Public House and MGM Grand Buffet. Breakfast is not included in the room rate and cannot be added to the reservation.

The pool complex includes four heated outdoor pools open seasonally (typically spring through fall, closed in winter). One pool is reserved for adults 21+ and requires a reservation for entry, ensuring a quieter atmosphere. All pools provide sun loungers and towels, and a pool bar serves drinks. The water slide is a highlight for families. The fitness center is spacious, free for guests 18 and over, and includes modern equipment. There is no spa on site. The hotel also features a games room and access to a golf course within 3 km.
