Cambridge Suites Hotel Halifax sits directly across from the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site and is 300 metres from the Halifax Convention Centre in the business district. The waterfront boardwalk, Scotiabank Centre, and the Spring Garden Road shopping area are within 10 minutes on foot. The 320 Regional Express bus from the airport stops a few blocks away at 6 AM onwards. Taxis from the airport cost approximately CAD 70-80. On-site paid parking is available but first come, first served; free street parking is available on weekends from 6 PM to 8 AM. The hotel is also a short walk from the VIA Rail station and a 5-minute walk to Budget/Avis car rental.

Every suite includes a kitchenette with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and sink. A limited number of suites have a full kitchen with a stove, dishwasher, and full-size fridge (book directly). Junior Suites offer either a water view or a city view. Bedding configurations include one king, one queen, or two double beds; many suites have a sofa bed in the living area. All rooms have a private bathroom (some with bathtubs only - no walk-in showers except the accessible suite). Room features include a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, heating, ironing facilities, tea/coffee making amenities, and a work desk. The rooms are spacious but some may show wear - carpets and furniture can appear tired, and older units may have dim lighting, small TVs, or sticky kitchenette flooring. Noise from the hallway or adjacent rooms can carry, especially on weekends. Light sleepers may want to request a room away from the road or bring earplugs.

Breakfast is included for all guests and offers scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast/bagels, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea. Gluten-free bread (separate toaster) and vegan options are available upon request. Meat (bacon or sausage) is not included - available for a surcharge of CAD 5-6. The breakfast room can feel busy during peak times, but extra seating is opened in a banquet area. Canvas Resto-Lounge is on-site and open for dinner from 5-10 PM Tuesday through Saturday, serving family-friendly fare with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options. Happy hour features discounted draft beer and house wine. The lobby has a free coffee and tea bar with milk alternatives throughout the day. Numerous cafés and restaurants (Steve-O-Reno's across the street, The Old Triangle pub, Durty Nelly's, 2 Doors Down) are within a 5-minute walk.

The wellness area is located above the 6th floor and includes a fitness room with a Peloton bike and free weights, a small hot tub, and a dry sauna. The hot tub and sauna are open 5 AM-11 PM and may require an appointment (check current policy at check-in). The dry sauna takes time to warm up but is effective once ready. The rooftop patio offers panoramic city views and outdoor seating - perfect for relaxing, but note it may be closed for renovations or end-of-season. There is no pool or full spa on-site. The outdoor terrace, sun terrace, and picnic area provide additional lounging space. The area can get busy during peak hours, especially the hot tub.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and public areas. The 24-hour front desk offers concierge service, luggage storage, and an ATM on site. Daily housekeeping is complimentary; additional laundry service (fee-based) and guest washers/dryers (CAD 3 each, detergent free) are available.
