CAMPING CHALETS LAC ST-AUGUSTIN, Quebec City

The property sits directly on the tranquil Lac St-Augustin, with most chalets offering lake views and private terraces. It is conveniently located near Highway 40, making trips into Old Quebec fast and straightforward. A bus stop 600 meters away provides an alternative to driving. Despite being close to the city, the surroundings feel natural and quiet. Nearby attractions include Parc Aquarium du Québec (10 km) and the Plains of Abraham (17 km). The location is especially practical for travellers with a car, given the free on-site parking.

Accommodation options vary significantly. Recently renovated chalets offer comfortable beds, full kitchens with stoves and large fridges, and modern finishes. Many older units, however, show wear: outdated furniture, worn mattresses, impractical shower sizes, and maintenance issues like rotting bathroom floors, broken window handles, and ineffective air conditioning. Lakefront chalets provide the best experience, with direct views and outdoor seating. Some units have soundproof walls and private entrances. For a pleasant stay, opting for a lakefront or recently updated chalet is strongly recommended. Extra bedding is available on request. The condition of the assigned chalet is inconsistent, making it something of a lottery.

The heated seasonal outdoor pool is located near the restaurant and is open to all visitors. The lake itself is used for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing, though there is no designated swimming beach. A children's playground, trampoline, and outdoor play equipment keep younger guests entertained. Indoor options include a games room with billiards and darts. Free amenities like badminton and hiking trails allow for low-cost outdoor activity. Golf and bicycle rentals are available for an additional charge. Jet skis on the lake can create noise and waves, particularly near the boat launch.
