CAMPING VLIEGENBOS, Amsterdam

The campsite lies within a peaceful forested park just north of the IJ river. The nearest metro station, Noorderpark, is a 10-minute walk away and takes you to Amsterdam Central in a single stop. Free ferries across the IJ are about 20 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bike. Buses stop directly outside the entrance. The campsite is 3 km from the A'DAM Lookout, 6 km from Amsterdam Central, and 20 km from Schiphol Airport. A large park with adventure playground is around the corner. While the area is well served by public transport, driving is not recommended due to the low-emission zone and limited parking.

Cabins are designed for up to 4 people with twin-size bunk beds (standard adult size). Each cabin has a private toilet and sink, a small kitchenette with fridge, stovetop and utensils, plus a seating area and outdoor table. Pillows, blankets and bed linen are provided. Towels are available to rent. Showers and additional toilets are located in a separate building a few metres away - kept very clean, heated and with hot water. The cabins are well heated, comfortably compact and quiet, set among trees with plenty of space between units. For those wanting to pitch a tent, basic pitches are also available.

The Roundabout restaurant serves brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails daily from 08:00 to 23:00 (closes at 14:00 on Sundays). Seating is outdoors on a terrace with picnic areas, and there is live music. A breakfast option is available - typically pastries, butter, jam, coffee and a shared bottle of water (around €19 per couple). For self-catering, each cabin has a kitchenette with hobs, fridge and cookware. A minimarket on site sells snacks, drinks and basic provisions. Nearby within 0.5-1 km there are pizzerias, an ice cream parlour, a fish shop and a taqueria.

The campsite offers bicycle rental (additional charge), free bike tours and walking tours, which are a practical way to explore Amsterdam-Noord and the free ferries to the city centre. Live music and performances take place on the terrace. Cycling is popular in the area, and a golf course is within 3 km. The surrounding forested park provides a quiet setting for running or walking. There are no spa or pool facilities.

Reception is open 24 hours and offers private check-in/check-out. Free luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. On-site services include a shared kitchen, a vending machine for drinks and snacks, and a laundry room with washer and dryer (additional charge). Free Wi-Fi is available in public areas. Parking is possible nearby at €10 per day (no reservation). The property is wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking, grab rails, raised toilet, lower sink and emergency cord. Security features include key-code entry, CCTV, 24-hour security and smoke alarms.
