CAPITAL HILL HOTEL & SUITES, Ottawa

The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the city on foot. Parliament Hill, the Rideau Centre shopping mall, Byward Market, and numerous museums are all within a 10- to 15-minute walk. The nearest bus stop is right outside, and the airport shuttle stops at the hotel. For car-free exploration, this location is hard to beat. The immediate area has a 24-hour convenience store and several restaurants, including a café next door for breakfast.

Accommodation options include standard rooms and larger suites with a separate living area and kitchenette. Beds are firm but comfortable, and pillows are provided. The suites are particularly generous, often with a dining table and ample storage. Bathrooms are functional but compact, and shower water pressure can be inconsistent. Some rooms feature a balcony, though these lack chairs. Light sleepers should request a room away from Albert Street, as bus noise can be an issue. Air conditioning units are effective but can be noisy.

The hotel's breakfast is a continental buffet with toast, pastries, hard-boiled eggs, and hot drinks, served in a windowless basement area. For a fuller meal, the on-site restaurant The Bibliotheque Cafe offers lunch and dinner. The surrounding area is rich with dining options, including several restaurants within a 5-minute walk and a 24-hour convenience store two blocks away for snacks and supplies.

The fitness centre is equipped with basic gym equipment and is available at no extra charge. There is no pool or spa on site. For families, there is a game room. The lack of children's activities or a pool means the leisure options are best suited to fitness-focused travellers.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the property, though connectivity can be inconsistent. The 24-hour front desk can assist with concierge services and luggage storage. On-site private parking is available for CAD 22 per day; the lot is small and does not allow in-and-out access. A business centre with meeting rooms is available at an additional charge. Pets are allowed, but a fee may apply. Daily housekeeping is included. Key-card access and a safety deposit box are provided.
